Temple of Sound release their fifth studio album "GlobalHead" on Namaste Records(A Division of The Machat Company)/Koch Records in the USA on May 8th 2007.
The album features 12 tracks written and produced by Neil Sparkes and Count Dubulah AKA Temple of Sound featuring guest appearances by Natacha Atlas, Jah Wobble, Ben Baddoo, Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali, Abdullah Chhadeh and Hukwe Zawose.

Temple Of Sound are an internationally established production and performance duo at the forefront of dance, dub and world music.
The duo is comprised of Neil Sparkes - vocalist, percussionist, programmer, poet and painter; and Count Dubulah , guitarist , bass player, programmer and editor.
Together Sparkes and Dubulah (ex Transglobal Underground) helped create the style of Global Dance Groove and Mash Up that has become a world wide genre, embracing and developing World Music to become much in demand as musical collaborators, performers and producers.

Production work for a hitlist of World, Dance and Dub artists continues to push the barriers of World music forward . These include Natacha Atlas (Beggars Banquet), nominated for Best Album in World Music Awards 2007 and Los De Abajo (Real World).

Hi,

as promised, here are the links to the mini CD comp called "Why Are People So Unkind" [kryptonitesah oh-1]. (the catch phrase of the crooner in question "Kamahl"). (details about the comp in previous mail "some atom heart you won't have heard"). Hope you enjoy - it makes me chuckle....

It's best listened to as a whole piece so download each track, put it into your favourite player and get the whole 20mins at once. Then if you are brave, go hunt down some of the original stuff on the net ;)

favorite collaborations?

just found you folks -- greetings!

anyone a fan of his work with bernd friedmann as 'flanger'? i *love* their album 'midnight sound' and 'outer space/inner space' ain't bad either.

of course i'm a fan of señor coconut, i'm listening to the song 'supertropical' right now, but i'm also a fan of his collaborations; the song 'love story' from 'xxx' with tea time is another favorite of mine.

but flanger is still my favorite of his projects and 'midnight sounds' is my favorite of his albums...

Some Atom Heart you won't have heard yet.

Hi all,

Not a big deal, but something of interest for fans. A couple of years ago I put out a limited (50) edition miniCD with 20 tracks.

Each track is made using an album from the Australian grandma-icon "Kamahl" (google him.... a crooner of camp calibre). The track could be made the conventional way (sample, arrange etc) or unconventionally (smash it, burn it, caress it - record that sound etc etc) and could only be made using that record (no extra sounds). Track length - 1 minute.

So, Atom Heart did one track, People Like Us as well, and 18 Melbourne sound artists. Some of the tracks are hilarious, some downright spooky.

I'll post a link to the tracks if people are interested!

there's a new 7 tracker out on L.I. records. It's kinda slow acid-latin american disco with kooky vocals. not bad. not so rhythmically crazy as los samplers etc.

Looking for VSVN and Flexton on CD

Anyone have CD versions of VSVN or Flextone that they would want to part with? Or if you don't want to part with it maybe trading a copy? I have the entire Rather Interesting catalog up to Fonosandwich on CD, but only have VSVN and Flextone on vinyl. I primarily mix CD's now and the S/N ratio from my vinyl->CD masters are pretty bad. There's too much dynamic range in Atom's music. :)

Anyways, if you can help out a huge Atom Heart fan, I would appreciate it mightily. Again, I have a huge CD and vinyl collection and I would be willing to trade big time for either of these CD's.
